Just B. Jordan was born in Oregon in 1994. As a young child she struggled to learn how to read and write. It was a great source of frustration to her, so she strongly disliked anything to do with words or literature.

Despite this, she was always telling herself stories. It was inevitable she eventually fall prey to the charms of reading. (But to this day spelling remains her worst subject.)

Jordan never considered writing down her stories. They were made for her entertainment, and telling them to anyone else felt invasive.

Her mother once said, “You could be an author.” Jordan’s reply was, “No. Sitting down for hours on end would drive me crazy.”

This explains her insanity.

At the age of 16 Jordan decided it was time to choose what she was going to do with her life. After six months of

deliberation, she came to a decision. She was already spending most of her time in fantasy worlds. It only made sense to make a career out of something she enjoyed.

So, without ever having written anything outside of school assignments, she went out and spent most of her savings on a laptop computer. A week later she began her first NaNoWriMo. She completed the challenge. The resulting 50,000 words were the beginning of the first draft of a novel that, over the next two and a half years, became Never to Live.

Jordan received her first publishing contract at the age of 18, and after some major edits Never to Live was published by Marcher Lord Press, now Enclave Publishing.

Even so, her spelling still sucks. And sometimes her phraseology is half a step back from baffling. We blame it on a past concussion, but really her brain is just weird. Always has been.

When not writing Jordan enjoys working with dogs, exploring the outdoors, occasionally making costumes and

steampunk pieces, practicing her cursive(that used to suck, too), and most recently, learning solo jazz and Lindy Hop.

When no one is looking she puts in earbuds and dances around. But that’s a secret. She’s definitely a cool and composed person. Just don’t ask her siblings about her sense of humor, or about what happens when she’s on caffeine.
